FIESTA/SIESTA/FIESTA
//2017
Naves Matadero Madrid
After an initial residency at Sala Hiroshima in Barcelona, the project F/S/F by Tagore González and David Orrico continues its development with a second residency and several live shows at Naves Matadero – International Center for Performing Arts in Madrid.
The musician’s body as catalyst.
FIESTA/SIESTA/FIESTA explores the boundaries between concert, performance, and stage work. It investigates the relationship of the creator or performer with their own activity and the new, hybrid possibilities of communication that emerge once the pre-established limits of their work are surpassed.
What would happen if we asked SIRI, the oracle of the 21st century, to learn to dance? FIESTA/SIESTA/FIESTA becomes aware of existing orders. Technology as a tool that imposes and determines our actions. The frustration of not belonging, the personal need to seek a new balance from the true nature of things.
“FIESTA as a cataclysm, an incomprehensible nonsense that disorganizes us and shakes our foundations. We must recognize ourselves after the storm and take inventory. SIESTA teaches us to reorganize ourselves and perhaps, with a bit of luck, find new orders and systems to celebrate the becoming of life toward death as a singular experience. FIESTA.”
