EL OBJETO SUDA. TRES PIEZAS
//2019
I. Objeto-Sujeto.
II. El objeto suda.
III. El objeto es también su representación.
Audiovisual pieces created for the stage work Yo, piano.
The relationship between the piano as object and the pianist as subject is present throughout the three pieces. The piano’s primary function is set aside in order to endow it with new possibilities as a sculptural object, exploring—through visual poetry—its relationship with the subject and their emotional complexities.
The object as container… of the subject, of matter, of vibrations…
Three portraits that reflect on what overwhelms and weighs us down; on the acceptance of what we know is yet to come; on decline; on sinking into what we love most; on the act of survival; on ritual as a means of transformation and experimentation in search of a new order.
Everything unfolds in slow motion—because it reveals the dance that accompanies every gesture; because the hypnotic quality of each micro-movement invites reflection; because of the elegance within each expression; and because of the importance of pausing to observe what usually goes unnoticed.
